Planning your school or group visit
Bristol Museum & Art Gallery has 20 galleries over three floors with a diverse range of objects. Discover world-class collections from dinosaurs and gems to magnificent fine art and Egyptian artefacts.
Please do not attempt to bring a group to any of our museums without receiving a booking confirmation from us, as you will not be admitted due to the capacity for groups having been reached.
Please contact us about booking visits to our sites.

Access
There is level access from the main entrance in Queens Road, with a lift to the ground floor of the museum. Once inside we have lifts to all floors.
All toilets, including an accessible toilet, are on the ground floor either side of the main staircase.
There is a Loop system at Reception. You can find out more about accessibility in our Facilities section.
Adult helpers
Please bring at least one adult for every six Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils or one adult for every 15 Key Stage 3 pupils. Pupils should be supervised at all times throughout your visit including visits to the toilet.
Eating at the museum
The only space in the museum where groups can eat and drink is in our lunch room on the first floor. There’s room for one group of up to 40 children and adults at a time. Free use is included if you’ve booked a museum-led session on your visit. If you’re making an independent visit, contact us to book this space (subject to availability) for only £1 per pupil.
On arrival
Our Visitor Services staff will show you where you can leave coats and bags. If you’ve booked one of our sessions, a Museum Educator will meet you.
You are welcome to take photographs. We’d love you to share pictures of your school trip with us on social media.
