The Red Lodge Museum was built in the late 1570s for Sir John Young and his wife Dame Joan. Are you learning about the Tudors? Investigate the Great Oak Room with its wood paneled walls and huge fireplace. What can you discover about life in Bristol during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I?

The Red Lodge Museum is available for school visits from April to December. During opening days schools can visit between 11am-4pm. One group of up to 35 can visit Red Lodge at a time and all groups need to book in advance.

Why not book a class visit to our other museums? The historic Red Lodge is located within easy walking distance of both Bristol Museum & Art Gallery and The Georgian House Museum.
