Curator talk: Minerals of the Bristol Region

Minerals can be spectacular to look at, full of colour and sparkles, and they can be incredibly useful in the modern world.

The Bristol area is a great place to be inspired by geology. The diverse rocks of the region have been formed, compressed and crumpled over millions of years. This has left an interesting, and colourful, mineral story in the landscape.

Focusing on three colours: red, blue and purple, join us to explore stories about heavenly crystals, ancient rivers, sparkling diamonds and underground spirits. Focusing on examples in the exhibition and from the museum’s geological collections this talk will explore the history, uses and beauty of minerals.

Join our Geology Curator for a talk about beautiful minerals from the Bristol region, in three colours.
