Getting here on foot

Bristol Archives is in ‘B’ Bond Warehouse and accessed via the Create Centre.

We’re a 30 minute walk from the city centre and a 45 minute walk from Bristol Temple Meads train station.

Cycle paths to the Record Office run from:

  • the city centre alongside Cumberland Road
  • Bedminster, through Greville Smyth park and across the old railway bridge
  • Pill, along the old rail track, under the suspension bridge and over the old railway bridge.

There are cycle racks by the front entrance.

Getting here by bus

Bristol Archives is in ‘B’ Bond Warehouse and accessed via the Create Centre.

The Wessex Connect 506 service serves this stop from Bristol Temple Meads and Broadmead.

A number of bus services run regularly along Hotwell Road from Bristol bus station and the city centre, stopping just before Junction Lock Bridge.

The Long Ashton Park and Ride bus stops very close to Bristol Archives in Dowry Square, Hotwells and departs from Merchant’s Road bus stop, Hotwells. Please be aware that these are request stops.

Getting here by boat

Bristol Archives is in ‘B’ Bond Warehouse and accessed via the Create Centre.

You can catch a Bristol Ferry from Temple Meads and Prince Street Bridge to Hotwells, which is a five minute walk away.

Boats run every 40/50 minutes – visit the Bristol Ferry Boats website for timetables and fares.

Bristol Temple Meads train station is around two miles from Bristol Archives.

Bristol Archives is in ‘B’ Bond Warehouse and accessed via the Create Centre (BS1 6XN).

Parking at Bristol Archives is very limited. There’s a small amount of parking in the car park by the Create Centre, as well as several smaller car parks in the area and on-street parking in Avon Crescent (BS1 6XQ) and along Cumberland Road (BS1 6UF).
