Group visits

Academic Year 2022-2023

Earlier in the year we commissioned a survey to discover what teachers, schools and home educating families wanted from our learning programme. We are now in the process of updating and improving our workshops, webinars, loan boxes and adding new online resources.

Bookings for Terms 1 and 2 have been filling up quickly, so contact us now to book your workshops and visits to our any of our sites between September and December.

All groups of 10 or more need to book a visit to our museums in advance through the Learning team, so contact us for further information about making your booking. Do remember to bring a copy of your booking confirmation with you when you visit.

*Please note that there is a booking fee of £35 of per class for schools intending to visit the Grayson’s Art Club and Think Global: Act Bristol exhibitions. This booking fee guarantees a specific date and time for your visit, and includes all admission charges.

Whether you have two hours or two days to spare in the city, Bristol Museums welcomes group visits and can help with itinerary ideas. Here are some examples of the activities we can take group bookings for:

  • Behind the scenes tours
  • Meet the expert/curator opportunities
  • Group bookings to our temporary exhibitions
  • Steam train rides
  • Afternoon cream teas and reserved seating in our cafes
  • Catering and venue hire for special events
  • Historic walks
  • Talks and tours at Bristol Archives
  • Special learning sessions for Cubs, Scouts, Guides and Brownies
  • EFL Tours for oversees visitors and students who speak English as a Foreign Language
