Getting here on foot

Bristol Archives is in B Bond Warehouse and accessed via the Create Centre (BS1 6XN).

To access Bristol Archives you’ll need to come to the Create Centre entrance of B Bond and walk through to the Archives.

We’re a 30 minute walk from the city centre and a 45 minute walk from Bristol Temple Meads train station.

Cycle paths to the Bristol Archives run from:

  • the city centre, alongside Cumberland Road
  • Bedminster, through Greville Smyth Park and across the old railway bridge
  • Pill, along the old rail track, under the suspension bridge and over the old railway bridge.

There are cycle racks by the front entrance of the Create Centre.

Getting here by bus

To access Bristol Archives you’ll need to come to the Create Centre entrance of B Bond and walk through to the Archives.

The M2 Metrobus service stops at Cumberland Basin (between A and B Bond warehouses). For more information, see service updates on the TravelWest website.

A number of other bus services run regularly along Hotwell Road from Bristol bus station and the city centre, stopping just before Junction Lock Bridge.

You can catch a Bristol Ferry from Temple Meads and Prince Street Bridge to Hotwells, which is a five minute walk away.

Boats may be running a reduced service due to the coronavirus pandemic, please visit the Bristol Ferry Boats website for timetables and fares.

Getting here by train

To access Bristol Archives you’ll need to come to the Create Centre entrance of B Bond and walk through to the Archives.

Bristol Temple Meads train station is around two miles from Bristol Archives.

The M2 Metrobus stop is a six minute walk from the station, outside the Hilton hotel on Temple Way. The service is currently diverted via Coronation Road, serving stops at C Bond Warehouse. This is a short walk across the river from Bristol Archives. For more information, see service updates on the TravelWest website.

To access Bristol Archives you’ll need to come to the Create Centre entrance of B Bond and walk through to the Archives.

Parking at Bristol Archives is limited. There’s a small visitor car park outside the Create Centre – to park here, you must obtain a visitor permit from the Create reception. Blue Badge holders do not require a parking permit.

There are also several smaller car parks in the area and on-street parking in Avon Crescent (BS1 6XQ) and along Cumberland Road (BS1 6UF).
