Join us in July for a month of archaeology as we help celebrate the annual Festival of Archaeology with events for all….

This year’s theme, “Archaeology and Community,” aims to engage visitors of all ages. From  learning through interactive activities to exploring local archaeological sites you may not have been aware were on the doorstep, these events foster a sense of involvement.  Archaeology is a shared journey into our collective past, and we look forward to you joining us!

Under 4s Museum Explorers: become a mini-archaeologist

Fri 5 July, 11am to 12.30pm, Blaise Museum

Join us at Blaise Museum for an extra special under 4s session, and have a go at being a mini-archaeologist. With play, crafts and stories.

Bristol’s Brilliant Archaeology 2024

Sat 13 July, 11am to 4pm, Blaise Museum

Join museum archaeologists and a whole host of local societies, re-enactors, field archaeologists and heritage organisations to celebrate Bristol’s Brilliant Archaeology. There’s plenty for mini archaeologists to do too with mini excavations, weaving, pot-making, face painting, archery and more.

 

Bristol Library’s Special Collections Sunday: The Festival of Archaeology edition

Sunday 21 July, 2pm to 4pm, The Bristol Room, Central Library

Family fun at Kings Weston Roman Villa

Wednesday to Friday 24 to 26 July, 10am to 3pm, Kings Weston Roman Villa, Long Cross, Bristol, BS11 0LH.

Kings Weston Roman Villa is also open for some family fun for the first week of the school holidays with an exciting range of activities on offer including dressing up, craft, trails and more.
