I’ve worked for the Bristol based mutual, National Friendly for 9 years now, so I’m no stranger to the city’s creative culture, from the great street art to the fascinating exhibitions at Bristol Museum. I’m passionate about the arts, particularly knitting, painting and sculpture. That’s why I’m thrilled that National Friendly are sponsoring Woman’s Hour Craft Prize.

The Woman’s Hour Craft Prize was launched to celebrate the 70th anniversary of BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour. This year also marks National Friendly’s 150th anniversary. Just like Woman’s Hour, today we follow the same principles as when we first started, providing a range of products to help our members prepare for life’s uncertainties.

Woman’s Hour Craft Prize celebrates work from a diverse range of artists who have all significantly contributed to craft practice and we are glad to have the opportunity to be a part of this, in any way we can.

So if you’d like to celebrate Bristol’s creative culture while also enjoying some of today’s excellent contemporary art and crafts, join National Friendly and I in supporting the Woman’s Hour Craft Prize at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery.
