Behind the scenes tours

Join a tour of M Shed’s collection stores and get up close to the city’s industrial and maritime past.

Like many museums, M Shed has more objects in its stores than it has in its galleries. The stored collections are housed at L Shed, adjoining M Shed. They contain thousands of items representing Bristol’s industrial, maritime and social history. On a tour behind the scenes, these are vividly brought to life by our volunteer guides.

As you explore the aisles, you will see huge machinery, delicate models and intriguing objects of all shapes and sizes.
