How to redeem your gift cards

Experience Gift Cards

To redeem your gift card go to What’s On pages on our website, where you’ll find events, exhibitions and experiences. Select your chosen event, exhibition or experience, add your tickets and click “proceed with checkout”. When you reach the payment screen, select “gift card” from the payment options and enter the code from your gift card. Click continue to review and confirm your order.

Shop Gift Cards

To redeem your gift card go to our online shop and choose your items. Add them to your basket and when ready, go to checkout and enter the code from your gift card in the ‘Discount code or gift card’ box.

Alternatively, you can pop into one of our museum shops and present your code to the person at the till.

Anything else

You may need to pay the remaining balance if the amount on the gift card is less than the total amount of the tickets or shop items.

If your gift card total is more than the amount you’re spending, any remaining balance will be issued as a gift card or remain as a balance on your gift card.

Gift Card Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions apply to both our Experience and Shop Gift Cards:

  1. Gift cards are not valid against the purchase of more gift cards.
  2. If you do not spend the entire amount on the gift card the remaining balance will be updated after each purchase. The balance can be used against future purchases.
  3. Gift cards can be used as part payment for a transaction with the balance being paid by another accepted method.
  4. If any purchase with a gift card is subsequently exchanged for a product of lower price or a refund, any money owing will be issued as a gift card.
  5. Gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash.
  6. The gift card is not a cheque guarantee, credit, debit or charge card. Bristol Museums cannot be held liable for lost or stolen cards – please protect them as you would cash.
  7. Your gift card will expire 12 months after the date of issue. Any remaining balance is cancelled on expiry. We reserve the right to amend terms and conditions of our gift cards at any time and take appropriate action, including cancellation of a card, if necessary, in return for an appropriate refund.
  8. Nothing in these terms affect your rights at law (for instance, under the Consumer Rights Act 2015). Please see the Citizens Advice website at citizensadvice.org.uk for more details.

The following terms and conditions apply to our Experience Gift Cards:

  1. Experience Gift Cards can be redeemed at the Bristol Museums website to book tickets online for experiences at any Bristol Museums site. Bristol Museums is Bristol Museum & Art Gallery, M Shed, The Georgian House Museum, The Red Lodge Museum, Kings Weston Roman Villa and Blaise Museum. 
  2. Experiences include any ticketed exhibitions, special events, family activities, walks, tours, talks, workshops and bookable Working Exhibits experiences.
  3. Experience Gift Cards cannot be used in our museum shops, online shop or onsite cafes. 
  4. Experience Gift Cards are not redeemable for third-party run events.
  5. Our Experience Gift Cards cannot be accepted for on-site purchases of event tickets at our box offices.

The following terms and conditions apply to our Shop Gift Cards:

  1. Shop Gift Cards can be redeemed for shop products from our online shop or in-store at Bristol Museums sites. Our main Bristol Museums shops are at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery and M Shed, with smaller shops at Blaise Museum, The Red Lodge Museum and The Georgian House Museum.
  2. Shop Gift Cards cannot be used to buy tickets for our exhibitions, events or experiences, either online or at our box offices.
  3. Shop Gift Cards are available to buy online or in-store at our museums. Whether purchased in-store or online, your gift card code will be emailed to you – they are not issued as physical cards.
