KS2 Workshop: British Science Week – Rocks & Fossils

Join us for our British Science Week workshop investigating Rocks & Fossils.

Meet a curator, explore Bristol Museum’s collections and take part in fun geology activities in this special workshop to mark British Science Week. This is an opportunity for young geologists to discover more about the rock cycle, volcanoes and plate tectonics.

 Children will: 

  • Talk to a Natural Sciences Curator about rocks and fossils
  • Handle and investigate rocks, fossils and minerals
  • Learn about and identify features of igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks
  • Learn about the structure of our planet, tectonic plates and volcanoes
  • Learn scientific geological terms

 

Suitable for: Years 4,5,6 (up to 35 children per class)

Duration: 90 minutes

Availability: 10.15am-11.45am and 12.30pm-2pm

Cost: £7 per child, accompanying adults free
