Home Educator workshop: Saxon Bristol
BOOKING CLOSED
How did the city of Bristol get its name? This Home Educator workshop investigates Saxon Bristol and uses evidence to build an understanding of everyday life.
This structured, museum-led learning session includes completing activities at tables supported by museum staff and volunteers.
In this workshop you will:
- find out about the Saxon origins of Bristol
- examine how different sources of evidence helps us construct the past
- learn about different roles in Saxon society
- handle replica artefacts
- make a Saxon-inspired craft to take home
- listen to a thrilling tale of warrior battles with mythical beasts
Please meet us at the museum reception five minutes before the session starts. If you arrive late please let museum staff know, so you can be shown where to find the workshop.
Eating and drinking is not permitted in the workshop. Crumbs attract pests and our collections are far too precious to be attacked!
