This fascinating talk will explore the history of Redland Court and the Cossins family who lived there.
The Redland Court estate was bought in 1732 by John Cossins, son of a successful London grocer, who had married a local woman, Martha Innes. Cossins set about rebuilding the house in the Palladian style and acquiring more land.
This talk will be delivered by Caroline Bateson, former head of Redland High School, which was located at Redland Court. Caroline’s booklet about Redland Court, priced at £3, will be on sale after the talk. There will also be complimentary tea, coffee, and homemade cakes.
This series of talks is generously funded and organised by the Friends of Bristol Museums, Galleries & Archives.
