Highlights Tour: Georgian House Museum
Join us on an exploratory tour of the Georgian House Museum, learning about the history of the house and the people who lived there.
Through the lens of a single household, guests will learn, not only about day-to-day life in Georgian times, but about the dramatic and harrowing global events which fuelled an era of both prosperity and tragedy, technology and romance, tradition and progress.
Tours run on Tuesdays from 10.30am and are approximately 30 minutes long. Visitors will be taken on a brief historical journey throughout four floors of the 230 year old Georgian town house. Please arrive no more than five minutes early to avoid having to wait around outside. Eating and drinking (with the exception of bottled water) is not permitted inside the museum.
Be aware that the tour deals with more difficult themes relating to the house’s colonial past and involvement with the trafficking of enslaved Africans which some visitors may find distressing.
