The World in Bristol Festival 2024

Bristol is a city with a long history of global connections. Today, Bristol is a City of Sanctuary and a place which people from all over the world call home. The World in Bristol Festival is a celebration of the city as a place of welcome, and the diverse communities which make it a vibrant cultural hub.

Join us for a day of joyful celebration, with craft activities, dance displays, music, curator tours and
theatre. All activities are free and open to all.

From Japanese folk songs and Indian classical dance to Senegalese Griot and Colombian folk
dance, we have it all. Join New Zealand Samoan/Welsh comedian James Nokise and DJ Don
Luchito for a funny and thought-provoking theatrical exploration of Bristol Museum & Art Gallery’s
world collection in Faovale Imperium. Then there are the curator tours of objects and stories from
the collections.

Our MC is Rob Mitchell, a Bristol-based Creative Media Producer, Writer and Spoken Word Artist
whose work focuses on race, identity, community, personal development, and transatlantic
slavery.

Be part of this joyful celebration, with free craft activities, dance displays, music, theatre and more. Let’s celebrate togetherness and a spirit of welcome.

If you’re interested in volunteering with us for this event, you can find out more and apply online.
