Lemn Sissay: My Name is Why

BLACK* artists on the move is delighted to welcome the incomparable Lemn Sissay back to Bristol to celebrate the launch of his new work – a memoir entitled My Name is Why.

Lemn will read extracts from his work and share poignant moments from his life in what promises to be a powerfully moving, thought-provoking evening. It promises to prompt us all to reappraise our own responses to setbacks and adversity and the nature of life itself.

Lemn is available to sign copies of his work after the reading.

Lemn Sissay MBE is a British author and broadcaster. Sissay was the official poet of the 2012 London Olympics, has been Chancellor of the University of Manchester since 2015, and joined the Foundling Museum‘s Board of Trustees two years later, having previously been appointed one of the museum’s Fellows.

He was awarded the 2019 PEN Pinter Prize. He has written a number of books and plays.
