Trading with Schools Conference

Curriculum Conference: Broad, Balanced and Bristolised

Trading with Schools (TwS) will be staging foundation subject curriculum for the first time covering art, music, ICT, RE, geography and history. The conference will support teachers to teach these foundation subjects in an enquiry based and localised manner.

The one day event will focus on the following key themes:

  • A localised offer centered on Bristol and the city’s heritage, archives and resources
  • Progression in skills and conceptual knowledge
  • A cohesive and progressive enquiry based approach
  • Cross-curricular opportunities
  • Assessment (and marking)
  • Mastery and opportunities for the most able
  • British Values and SMSC

Find out how local links can greatly enhance your curriculum. Educators will come away with practical ideas to be implemented back in school to make learning more meaningful and purposeful to your pupils.

Conference highlights:

  • Keynote speaker Adam Hart-Davis  will deliver an enthralling lecture on Bristolian heroes of science and technology.
  • An HMI inspector will update delegates on the Ofsted framework and what is required in terms of a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Quality workshop leaders include: STEM for practical science based workshops, Bristol Plays Music and representatives of Bristol Museums’ Learning Team
  • Delegates will have the chance to meet many of Bristol’s varied cultural providers and have the opportunity to find out how your curriculum can be enriched through school trips, experiences and resources available.
  • A Bristol based quiz, with prizes to be won…intended to reveal some interesting and less well known facts about this fascinating city!
