Bristol’s Brilliant Archaeology

Bristol’s Brilliant Archaeology is back and bigger than ever.

Throughout the day, there’ll be tours, demonstrations, displays and stalls from a whole host of local societies, re-enactors, field archaeologists and heritage organisations.

There’ll be plenty for mini archaeologists to do too with mini excavations, Iron Age coin hammering, pot-making, face painting and more. Our crafter-in-residence Zoe Rourke will be making mosaic inspired art and our fantastic storyteller Michael Loader will be retelling Roman and Greek myths at 11.30 am, 12.30 pm, 2.00 pm and 3.00 pm.

Blaise Castle, Blaise Community Gardens will be open throughout the day and St Mary’s Church in the parish of Henbury will be open from 2-4pm.

This event is part of the is part of the national Heritage Open Days. It is made possible through sponsorship from the Bristol & Gloucestershire Archaeological Society.
