English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
At M Shed, we give an introduction to Bristol’s exciting history by delivering free gallery tours aimed at ESOL learners in partnership with colleges and learning providers.
ESOL at M Shed offers your learners a whistle-stop tour of Bristol’s history using M Shed’s fascinating displays. ESOL: Behind the Scenes at M Shed uses intriguing objects of all shapes and sizes to help learners practise their speaking and listening skills.
At Bristol Museum & Art Gallery, Art for ESOL inspires language use through interaction with our beautiful art collection and spectacular gallery spaces.
From Pre-Entry to Level 2, our in-house ESOL expertise means we will meet your group’s individual needs. These innovative gallery tours were recently shortlisted for a Museums & Heritage Award.
“At the first time I went to M Shed I just feel happy in side… I open to it my heart and brain” – Nada, ESOL student
“Some of the students went back to the museum with their children and families already which is a great outcome” – ESOL teacher
We deliver free gallery tours and activities aimed at Functional Skills English classes at M Shed. Learners will test their skills while learning about the city and its history of protest. Our free resource pack will help your learners prepare for their visit and practise exam-style tasks.
