Become a fearsome warrior for the weekend!
Meet the Wulfheodenas Anglo-Saxon warriors and get up close to replica weapons and armoury with demonstrations by leather works and wood carvers.
Enjoy crafts activities, traditional board games, dressing up and authentic Saxon food before settling down around the campfire to hear thrilling tales of warrior battles.
Storytelling will take place at 11.30am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm daily.
Try out some traditional Anglo-Saxon games in the Assyrian Gallery. Find out what the Saxons ate with our fantastic feast, have a go at braiding and spinning and dress up as an Anglo-Saxon.
Our treasure talks are a golden opportunity to hear more about treasure and why it’s not just a ‘bling thing’. These will take place inside the exhibition gallery at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm daily.
Pick up one of our Warrior challenge trails or solve the Anglo-Saxon riddles around the museum to claim your prize.
Stop by the museum cafe for our family bundle all weekend – four meals for £20.
Warrior Treasures is a dazzling collection of gold ornaments studded with blood-red garnets that reveal how an Anglo-Saxon sword was more than just a weapon. It signified a warrior’s status, wealth, family and even religious beliefs.
