Leonardo: Amazing Anatomy for Home Educating Families (Age 8-11)

See real sketches made by Leonardo in our Leonardo da Vinci: A Life in Drawing exhibition. Discover Leonardo’s realistic sketches of human and animal anatomy. Then sketch selected museum specimens using different  art materials, comparing human and animal skeletons.

The children will:

  • See real Leonardo da Vinci drawings during a guided look at our Leonardo da Vinci: A Life in Drawing exhibition
  • Gain inspiration from this amazing Renaissance artist
  • Use different art materials to make their own drawings
  • Observe different museum skeleton and taxidermy specimens
  • Take home a free artist’s sketch book

Session availability: We have one session available at 1.30pm – 2.45pm

Suitable for: 8 – 11 years old
Duration: 75 minutes
Group size: There will be up to 20 children in the session

Parents or guardians are required to attend this home educator workshop with your child. Due to limited space in this workshop, siblings that do not have a ticket cannot take part. If additional siblings need to attend with a parent or guardian, please contact us.

Children and accompanying adults will be given access to our Leonardo da Vinci: A Life in Drawing exhibition for 15mins during this workshop. If you wish to enter the exhibition after the workshop to explore at your own pace, adults will be required to purchase a ticket for entry from the Box Office or via our website.

This is a structured learning session which includes completing activities with the aid of an adult. It is not suitable for ‘unschooled’ children.
