Ancient Greece has been called ‘the birthplace of Western civilization’. Its influence on our lives has lasted over 2,500 years. Learn more about its legacy in this hands-on session created especially for home educators, by studying Greek objects and even the architecture of the museum itself.
Learners will study a range of real decorated pots from ancient Greece, handle and study fragments of Greek pottery including pieces that are over 2,000 years old and reflect on what we can learn about life in ancient Greece from pottery.
- Suitable for: Year 3 – 6
- Duration: 1 hour 45 mins (1–2pm workshop; 2–2.45pm parent/carer-led museum trail)
- Group size: There will be up to 25 pupils in the session
