25 Below: Workshops, Events and Exhibitions for Young People

Young People are taking over the museum!

Throughout August, young people are invited to come and take over our museum and galleries through a series of free workshops and events. The programme has been designed for 14-25 year olds, with some activities for specific age groups.

See our temporary exhibition gallery transform into a hub of activity, with creative workshops and an ever-evolving exhibition of work by young people taking place.

Launch Afternoon
Monday 8 August, 1pm – 3pm
Our 25 Below launch kicks off with a Natural History store tour at 1pm. Between 2pm-3pm you can drop into the 25 Below gallery (next to the cafe) to find out more about the workshops on offer, and talk to the organisers about how you’d like to get involved with our exhibition.

Have an idea? Want to contribute to the exhibition? (Age 16+)
We’re looking for young people to come and help run and contribute to the exhibition. Here’s some ideas of what you could do:

  • Design and display work in the exhibition space
  • Welcome visitors and tell them about 25 Below
  • Update our social media channels and blogs
  • Photograph and film what’s going on
  • Curate your own museum tour
  • Take part in pop-up activities – and organise and deliver your own
  • Gain a volunteering hours certificate

If you’re interested please email us: [email protected]

Workshops and Tours

All workshops are free. Some workshops have limited spaces so you will need to book free tickets to attend.
