Dinners and receptions

Bristol Museum & Art Gallery is an elegant setting for entertaining in the heart of the city.

The impressive Winterstoke Hall (the front hall) creates an immediate impact on arrival as you walk through the doors – look up to admire the amazing building and see the Bristol Boxkite flying above your head. The spacious surroundings and impressive architecture make the ideal setting to host a champagne reception or pre-dinner drinks. Guests can also enjoy a special private view of the Egypt gallery.

The Wills Hall (the rear hall) provides a grand setting for drinks receptions, seated dinners or breakfasts, and for theatre style events. The high glass roof, arched balconies, grand staircase and marble floor make a magnificent backdrop for any event. It’s a flexible space that can be used to host large or small events, and the adjacent exhibition gallery offers guests the opportunity to enjoy a private view of our exhibitions.

Our team of experienced and creative chefs are skilled at creating bespoke menus to suit your needs, whether you’re planning a banquet or are after some simple and delicious canapés. We find the finest ingredients, locally sourced where possible, and ensure our food is ethical, sustainable and seasonal. We use Fair Trade coffee, British Farm Assured meat and freshly bake our bread and cakes using British flour. We can also provide tastings of your menus and help you to select the perfect wines to complement.

If you would like to discuss your plans and ideas, our Events Team would be happy to help.
