Leonardo: Landscapes and Nature

Landscape and Nature is a gallery-based workshop that develops speaking, listening and presentation skills by talking about selected paintings. Explore our Bristol collection of art and real art from our Leonardo da Vinci: A Life in Drawing exhibition.

The Children will:

  • Visit Leonardo da Vinci: A Life in Drawing exhibition to see real Leonardo drawings
  • Gain inspiration from this incredible Renaissance artist
  • Discuss picture composition and techniques
  • Investigate painting techniques, tools and materials
  • Ask questions and use their senses to explore paintings
  • Compare and contrast art from across different time periods
  • Learn specialist art vocabulary
  • Explore a chosen painting and present ideas

Suitable for: Year 4-6
Duration: 90 minutes
Group size: Up to 35 pupils – you can book more than one session

Self-guided pencil sketching around the museum is encouraged after your workshop. Look out for our sketching activity stations.

Session availability: We have two sessions available at 10.15am-11.45am and 12.00am-1.30pm. Further sessions may be available.
