Ten centuries of records

With records spanning ten centuries of Bristol’s history, Bristol Archives continues the long tradition of record-keeping in the city.

As the custodians of Bristol’s historic archives, our role is to preserve them for current and future generations and to support people who want to use them for research and learning.

This exhibition highlights the breadth and significance of the collections, ranging from medieval royal charters, to records that capture economic and social change, to modern photographs and films.
