An Introduction to Geophysics

Become an archaeologist for the day and have a go at geophysical surveying with our Introduction to Geophysics workshop.

Learn the principles and techniques involved, and help survey a real archaeological site. Led by Paul Driscoll, Archaeology and Historic Environment Record Officer for South Gloucestershire.

The day involves a practical outdoor session and is not suitable for people with limited mobility.

Please bring suitable outdoor clothing including footwear and wet weather/sun protection.You may also wish to bring a packed lunch with you to eat in the Blaise Castle Estate or alternatively there is a café in the Estate grounds. Parking is available in the Blaise Castle Estate car park.

Concessions are available with proof of identity for 16-18 year olds, students, people over 65, unemployed people, disabled people (carers free), Friends of Bristol Art Gallery and Friends of Bristol Museums, Galleries and Archives.
